Andi Hassan Selamat
The first time Andi Hassan studied marching band was in Pupuk Kaltim Bontang Marching Band. This marching band have won 10 times National marching band championship in Jakarta, Indonesia. His trainer was Mr. Andy Dougharty and Mr.Rene Conway from USA. Not only learning, Andi Hassan also became Mr.Andy Dougharty’s assistant for Visual Coordinator/drill design and horn line. Andi Hassan has participated some national championship since 1994 until 2000. Andi Hassan has the skills of playing trumpet, mellophone,alto saxophone¸and in 2000 his won best Drum Major. Recently , he become the music conductor for one of International Marching Band Festival in Thailand 2014. Then since 1999, Andi Hassan have fOCused to learn about Visual Effect and Color Guard Choreography.
He also joined visual clinic and Color Guard which makes him participated in International Band Camp Blue system in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with his favorite Drum Corps The Blue Devils from DCI. He also joined Drum Corps Europe the marching band judging system workshop by mr.Marco Harder and mr.Will Bijl from Netherland.
Andi Hassan also often be a speaker/Clinician and seminars in Indonesia about visual and Color Guard. His passion in visual and Color Guard, put him up for being adjudicator/judge in national marching band competition in Indonesia who especially fOCus on color guard and general effect. Currently, Andi Hassan is a marching band director in Semen Indonesia Marching Band which ever be the winner in national championship, performed at President Palace, and also be a band which successfully appeasing the International Marching band show display’s competition in Thailand in 2014.
Andi Hassan also coach some of the best marching band in Indonesia. One of them is co-oporated with the goverment as the band director in Indonesia Police Academy Drum Corps Cendrawasih for 5 years to be performed in front of the President of Indonesia and the country guest of honor. He also ever coached Marching Band team in Kuala Lumpur and Sarawak Malaysia for national championship.
